Do NOT use a GPS or computer mapping program to get here. Your GPS does not know a paved road from a 4x4 only road. Print our directions, take them with you, and USE THEM.

It's OK to print a map of the area to use WITH OUR DRIVING DIRECTIONS shown below, but do NOT use driving directions provided by any mapping program! Every mapping program can give crazy driving directions, because none of these programs knows if a road is a narrow four wheel drive mountain road or a nice paved road. There are many dirt roads around the Highland Park area, and some are nearly impassable with a minivan or car pulling a trailer. Do not come in on Treat Mountain Rd off Hwy 100. Definitely do NOT go down Fire Mountain/Fire Tower Rd. Bailey Rd is also dirt road, lots of potholes and some tight turns, not recommended, but can be negotiated at a slow pace. If you come in from Esom Hill, the west end of Culp Lake Rd is dirt, but passable with a minivan and a trailer.

Directions from Atlanta, coming out I-20 West to GA exit 11 (Hwy 27/Bremen):

Take GA exit 11 off I-20, turn north towards Bremen, stay on Hwy 27 for 22 miles and turn left on Hwy 100 South. (This is a badly marked intersection at mile marker 5 once you cross into Polk County - you can go left or straight here, no right-hand turn.) Go 2.7 miles on Hwy 100 South and turn right on Lime Branch Rd, then left at the next stop sign, then bear right at the next "Y" intersection. You are now on Culp Lake Rd. Follow it 2 miles until the pavement ends and then turn left.

Directions from Birmingham, coming out I-20 East to GA exit 5 (Hwy 100/Tallapoosa):

Take GA exit 5 off I-20, Hwy 100 Tallapoosa exit. Turn north towards Tallapoosa. Stay on Hwy 100 through the quick left-right zig-zag across the railroad tracks in Tallapoosa(watch for the Hwy 100 signs!). Continue on 100 north, about 12 miles to the Polk County sign on the right side of Hwy 100. Go 1 mile further and turn left at the next road (Fullwood Springs Rd). Go 1 mile and turn right at the stop sign onto Johnson Lake Rd. Go 1/2 mile and bear left onto Culp Lake Rd at the "Y" intersection. Follow Culp Lake Rd 2 miles until the pavement ends and then turn left.

Directions From Cedartown:

From Cedartown, go south on Hwy 27 (called Main Street in town), and take the right turn onto Hwy 100 South about 2 miles south of Cedartown (2 roads past The Farmer Store - do NOT turn on HWY 100 North in Cedartown). Follow Hwy 100 south 2.7 miles and turn right on Lime Branch Rd, then left at the next stop sign, then bear right at the next "Y" intersection. You are now on Culp Lake Rd. Follow it 2 miles until the pavement ends and then turn left.

From Marietta/Dallas via 278W:

Take 278W through Rockmart. As you are coming into Cedartown, you will see the new overpass/bypass. Go under the overpass and take the first left onto the access road to 278/6W. At the top of the hill, turn right onto the overpass and stay on that road until it turns into 27S/100S. Once on 27S/100S, go about 2 miles and take a right onto 100S. Do not take 100S in Cedartown OR on the bypass - wait until you are past The Farmers Store on your right, then look for 100S. Go 2.7 miles, turn right onto Lime Branch Rd. When Lime Branch Rd dead-ends, take a left. The road will take a bend to the right, then split. Take a right at the fork when the road splits, and you will be on Culp Lake Rd. Follow Culp Lake Road until the pavement ends, and then turn left. The entrance to the park will be on your left. Follow the gravel drive up to the building.

Directions from West Chattanooga/Nashville:

Take I-24 south to I-59 South to exit 205 (Hwy 68 - Collinsville). Follow Hwy 68 east to Leesburg, turn left onto Hwy 411 east in Leesburg. Stay on 411 east to Centre and turn right on Hwy 9 south. Take Hwy 9 south to Piedmont and turn left onto Hwy 278 east towards Cedartown. Turn right on Hardin Rd, the first road inside the GA state line. Follow Hardin to the end and turn left on Shiloh Rd, go 1.5 miles, and turn right at Shiloh Baptist Church on Bailey Rd, which is a dirt road. At the end of Bailey Rd, turn left on Culp Lake Rd and go one block to Highland Park on your right.

Directions from Piedmont, AL via 278E:

Take a right on Hardin Rd. (first road after crossing over the Georgia line). Left at the stop when Hardin Rd ends (Shiloh Rd.). Right at the 3-way stop (Brewsterfield Rd.) Right onto Culp Lake Rd. when Brewsterfield ends. Follow Culp Lake Rd. until the pavement ends, and then turn left. Look for gravel drive on the left.
