Hatfield McCoy Day1

October 14-18, 2009 - Get ready for 3 full days of some awesome Fall riding in the West Virginia mountains!

We will leave Wednesday, Oct 14 at about 10AM from Highland Park. If you live somewhere near our travel route, we can pick you up on the way. We will arrive at our destination just before dark, about 7:30PM. Ride all day Thurs, Fri, Sat, and drive back Sunday morning, arriving at Highland Park around 4PM.

Cost will be about $475 per person , and will cover all lodging and transportation costs, plus your riding fees/permits. PLEASE BE AWARE that the price may go up or down slightly due to the final size of our group and how many vehicles and gas we will need. I will let everyone know the exact cost as soon as I can, but it won't vary more than $20-$25 either way. A $200 deposit will secure your slot. Lodging for a large group is scarce where we are going, and I rented an entire motel You can pay over the phone witha credit card, or by check. WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED:
Food & drinks, or gas/oil for your bike, spare parts needed for your bike, adult beverages .

ADDITIONAL INFO:
1. You don't want to miss any killer riding days or have the wrong clothing with you, or no spares. Have as many spares as possible for your bike, like levers, foot pegs, cables, clutch plates, whatever you can think of that might wear out or get crashed out.

2. Everyone needs a high quality waterproof enduro jacket and a high quality backpack with hydration system. The backpack will hold spares, trail snacks, camera, etc, and in the warm part of the day, your Enduro jacket will be stuffed in it. I can suggest good backpacks and jackets if you do not already have those items. Weather at that time of year can range from sunny and 75 degrees to 35 degrees and raining. Typically we will start out with cool temperatures in the morning, later you will shed your jacket, stuff it in your backpack, and then put it back on if we get rain, or if temps drop late in the day.

3 . I will bring a well stocked toolbox, but if you know you need tools specific to your bike, like an unusual non-metric allen wrench that fits only your particular bark busters, then make sure you bring those tools with you. They must fit in your gear bag. If you intend to change your oil while we are there, bring oil with you. I will have a pan and a container for waste oil.

4 . The altitudes at H-M are similar to Highland Park, so if your Fall weather jetting is good here, it will be good there. Some bikes might require a little carb tweaking, but not much.

5 . Make sure your bike is fully serviced with new tires and new brake pads. Inspect and locktite everything. If your chain/sprockets show much wear, replace them before you go.
